I took this shot the other morning from my back yard which faces onto a Nature Preserve.....kinda cool...

Thanks - I woke up went on the back patio and tried to capture the mood. Sometimes there is mist & fog, other times there is morning and sunset light, sometimes it just flat & grey.

It does have that feel - thank goodness the local tribes are more interested in taking my money at the casinos! :D

Reminds me of the Wolfman movie...

    But really, Great photo!

Great backyard too. I've loved my natural backyard view like that to, kind-of. I live in the heart of a city but you'd never know it looking out the back yard. I have about 100 or more Cedar Waxwings this past week and for three more probably eating mulberries over my drive-way. I swear I think I live at a bird sky intersection. We see every kind of bird all the time. Hummers have yet to be seen yet. Should be anyday now.

    It's great isn't it.;)

I see deer regularly right at my fence line.

A roadrunner used to hop our fence, hunt snail in our backyard and to get inside the shells he would forcibly fling them down on our concrete patio...would leave a mess - my wife hated that bird, but I thought it was way cool.

Neighbor had a 6 ft rattle snake get caught in his chicken wire fence - we all have had to put up fencing to keep the hated rabbits out - dangburn critters kill the lawns and eat the plants.

Had some scorpions camp out by my back door - must have liked the heat coming from the kitchen.

Hawks perch on my fence looking for rabbits (yes!).

Coyote run the fence lines looking for easy pickings - for a while I had a 6 oclock Charlie coyote run my fence line like clockwork at 6pm every night.

I get a pretty wide variety facing the Preserve...

We always look around for hawks. It's amazing how many are here in the city.

Awesome! I'd LOVE to have that view in my backyard.

    Not bad, eh for.....San Diego....:D

There are restrictions though for houses that face the preserve...some folks have lowered their fence lines into the easements and have planted fruit trees...put in gazeebos...that's a no-no....its all about nature.

Lots of trails for mountain bikes, hikers, joggers...there's even a stable close by and folks can rent horses to ride the trails.

I can sit for hours on my back porch and just enjoy the view..with some smooth (and respectfully quiet) tunes playing.
