well i picked up a few of these because my room has terrible bass reverberation and standing waves http://www.thefoamfactory.com/acousticfoam/bassbroad.html

i wasn't sure how well they would work but for the price i had to give them a shot. after installing them around the room and doing what normally gave me the issue (whenever i stood i had reverb and a 2x increase in stuff 40-80hz) and voila problem reduced by 75%! probably the biggest issue it solved is even though i still have a few standing wave issues there is no "note cancelling" reverb on the low end. this was especially annoying because many of the albums i own have tracks where the bass guitar is shredding an entire different set of note then the leads, as many notes as 200 notes per minute. (obscura is a good example) i would recommend these to anyone wanting to reduce standing waves and eliminate reverb causing cancellation issues. notes that used to "hang on" after they were supposed to stop playing quit doing so.

however if you want to completely get rid of all bass standing wave issues, you might want to consider something more effective or buy enough of these to cover all corners, including the ceiling wall conjuncture.

You’d need a large fishing net. Bass is tasty. Oh, dear, I just realized we’re not talking about sea bass.

    Thats a great upgrade

Many people go around changing equipment before actually treating the room with acoustic paneling and it probably is the most important because the shape of the room determines the sound

I think one of the reasons I have not invested heavily into 2ch stereo is because I cant do it in my space . Analog has no bass management or you wouldn't use audessy so its pointless to run out and buy a krell 222 with a theta v111 dac
