Need Service Manual for Pioneer VSX-92TXH or 94TXH

My Pioneer is in the shop for repair and I'd love to not spend $92 to buy the service manual from Pioneer. Anyone out there happen to have one? The manual is good for both the 92TXH and the 94TXH.

That's a pretty new model and would be surprised if Mike has a manual for it.....I think you may be in for $92. I could be wrong. What's the issue? Do you not think the shop can figure it out?CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
I thought most authorized repair centers had full access to the service manuals and should get them for free. Why do you think you have to pay for it? Sucks though because I'm guessing you are not too far out of warranty and will be paying out of pocket for repairs. You will probably be shocked because its usually the PC boards that fail and they are not cheap. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

That is a rather new piece for what Mike usually does but he has helped me out in the past by directing me to where I might find a service/user manual on the cheap. It still might be worth a look see, he might surprise us.

The front panel freezes during operation and can only be reset by unplugging the amp. This was very intermittent until recently. Now in addition to freezing, it powers itself off and then back on and sometimes wont' power back on until after an extended 'rest' period. I bought it used from another forum member at a deep discount who fully disclosed the freezing issue. It hasn't been a real problem until now.
I am having a local retired AV tech (former Fisher, Sony and Tweeter employee) looking at it because he does repairs as a hobby now. That is the reason I'm looking for the service manual. He hopes it is a power supply or regulator issue and not a processor but my gut feeling is that it will end up being an expensive PC board.
The amp has frozen on him once but without the service manual, he can't identify all of the test points and know what they are supposed to read out.
This is a great sounding AVR so I hope I don't have to look for another. Maybe a SC version is in my future.....

Thanks for the tip. I searched the site and it looks like the later models haven't made it on there yet.____________________________________________________________

Try Servicemanuals.net
If they don't have it, then it is probably only available from Pioneer, which given the newness of the receiver, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
There's a Pio service center near you if you want to give them a call. Pioneer sent me their info for getting a service update they should be able to assist, perhaps even cover you under warranty.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to link an owner's manual...

Does anyone remember when owners manuals use to contain schematics and test points? I know, I'm old.

I believe that ended in the 70's or so....and yes, you are. Most of the vintage gear I find, IF they have original documents, the schematic is usually included. I think it's a valuable thing to have and if I keep anything for a long time, I'll look and buy a service manual.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Actually I think it really stopped in the mid 80s as I have a couple of Hafler amps from that period that have the schematics and such in the user manual, I also recall some Lafayette gear from that period that included schematics. You are correct about it being a valuable to have.
I wonder if the practice was ended due to design competition or perhaps the advent of the digital age? -
