Home theater in wall speaker system
Hello,
I am looking to purchase a home theater system for the great room in my house. I was wondering what you guys recommended. I would like to keep the cost around $1000 if possible (this price does not include the receiver). I would like to do a 7.2 channel in wall/ ceiling system, 2 in wall, 4 ceiling, 1 center.
The system I have put together so far is:
Polk Audio RC85i ($164, pair)
Polk Audio RC80i ($131.76, pair)
Infinity ERS HV250 ($159.99)
Definitive Technology ProSub 60 *2 ($171.98)
I also have a vaulted ceiling, not sure if that needs to be taken into account when selecting the ceiling speakers, positioning and all.
Your thoughts? Thanks.

I was thinking that to. Is there an advantage to a center speaker? And if so what would you recommend.
The polks and subs are from amazon, the center from crutchfield. -
There is no advantage, unless it is timbre (voice) matched with the rest of your speakers. This way your front sound stage remains constant when the sound moves.Main Surround -
Epson 8350 Projector/ Elite Screens 120" / Pioneer Elite SC-35 / Sunfire Signature / Focal Chorus 716s / Focal Chorus CC / Polk MC80 / Polk PSW150 sub
Bedroom - Sharp Aquos 70" 650 / Pioneer SC-1222k / Polk RT-55 / Polk CS-250

So no advantage to buying a polk center speaker over another pair of the rc85's?
What about the vaulted ceiling thing, can I am the speakers down or will it not matter sound wise? I know I can aim the tweeters, I am wondering about the mid level speaker. -
I beleive the csi series are timbered matched to the rci's.I can tell you from exp.The csi5 is a great center if you have the space. It is a beast. One call has them for 249.00Parasound Avc-1800

No. The better match for the Csi5 would be the Tc series. These are a great value:

Then what center channel do I need to match the RC80is? -

The series would be Cs10, Cs20, Cs2, or any Tsi centers which are the newer generation of the Monitors.
Good deals on newegg. -

So if I get the csi5 would I be disappointed or would it just be too much for the rc80is?
