Enjoy, you should like it, I have Acer P224w (24"-widescreen) and have been very pleased with it. Don't do much gaming though. Just mostly surfing and very little video editing. The biggest problem I have had so far with it was not ordering two.

I run 2 gateways right now, 21 and 24. Love them. I'm hoping they'll come out with some 24" LEDs so I can flush wall mount them in front of the desk!

    Congrats on the purchase

You should have no issues with frame rates using that card at that resolution. The 4890 is a solid card. Congrats on the new monitor!

So you're running that as a computer monitor....sheeesh..my bedroom LCD is a 24", lol. It's sort of funny because the audio system in there is better than the TV? Should really have a 32" due to the distance from the bed? Oh well...at least I have good sound!

I have the same display as Sherardp and I Love it now, When I first got it I didn't so much because I was using the VGA cable and my Monitor looks like crap with a VGA cable. I had to use a DVI cable and it looks so much better

Sherardp are you sure it's 26" because you told me you have the same as me and mine an LG W2753V-pf and it is 27"

I like having the 27" on my PC because when my wife is watching Dancing with the Stars I can watch shows on mine while sitting at my computer desk.

Las I have the 26 and the 27 bro. I run the 26 in the office and the other @home. I recently got my daughter a 22" (spoiled 9yr old)and she loves it. I was thinking of going to a 32 " LCD and using it as a monitor since they have them on sale here for 400 bucks. Not sure if I need that much screen though.

Sherardp, I am using a sharp 32" LCD both as a second monitor and tv. It works fairly well for when my youngest wants to watch a video from disney or netflix. But I think I rather have two 24" monitors for none video watching instead of a 24 and a 32..

32" is huge, just not sure my desk will fit it since I have a promedia ultra setup as sound. I will probably take some measurements and see if it will work for me, worst case I mount it on the bookcase and use it for movie playback in the office or playing the 360 on lunch.

I have the v2-400 setup but my rear speakers are not working anymore. This is a common problem with the Klipsch promedia systems and thankfully there are some people out there who can fix them and add a cooling fan in the sub so it doesnt happen again.I will spend the 100.00 or so bucks to get these working again.Ive tried other systems and they dont even come close to the Klipsch. Its sad they stopped making them.

A 4890 will play just about any game with very high graphics level at 1920x1080. There may be a few like Crysis or Far Cry 2 that you cant crank up to max levels but keep the AA off and you will still get great performance. The 4890 is an awesome card.

Im rolling a 22" Acer myself and am a fan. The darks are a little light but the rest of the colors are spot on and for $50 less than comparable 22's, Im happy.

Here are some pics.Im not sure if I like this yet as it seem very bright even after I turned the brightness down from 85 to 32.I have yet to run some games but Ill get in some dragon age play and need for speed most wanted and see how that goes.
Is it normal for the club polk and other internet pages to be in 4/3 format?

Seems its time to move the desk and clean up the dust and cobwebs. The things you find after taking pics is crazy.I never noticed that since I keep this area in very dim lighting.

Well,it still seems too bright but I was messing around with some settings Catalyst control center and found a Digital Panel (DVI) which had a brightness setting and turning it down to -6 gave me a perfect black level. So it didnt look washed out anynore. And then I went into the color adjustments and clicked the Reactivate ATI color controls and that messed things up again. Now I cant get that damn ATI color control to shut off and uninstalling CCC,then a reinstall doesnt work nor did system restore. It must have put something into the registry that the ATI uninstall utility doesnt remove. So it looks like a Fresh XP install is in the very near furture.Time to back up some things to another hard drive and start over.Damn I hate doing that.It takes hours to get everything back to the way it was.But then again you get that fresh snap only a new install can give you.

That looks huge! Hope you get your software issue figured out.

What speakers are those? I'm using Klipsch Promedia 2.1, but I only have two knobs on my speaker, and I notice you have three. Just has me curious.

Im wondering if winXP detecting this monitor as a plug and play monitor could be a problem. It has no XP driver.Only a vista driver that I could find.Hmmm.

I just tried that trick of dropping the brightness in CCC and it did work pretty well for me. My Acer also has kinda washed out blacks and I could never fix them properly in the controls but the overall color was pretty damn good so I lived with it. I dropped the brightness on mine -15 and it made a very nice improvement. Thanks for the tip!
