The 70 prices are now showing up as $219 each, but that's with free shipping. Still a nice deal.

UGHGH I hate Canada sometimes. Does anyone know of a freight forwarder company that I could have this shipped to, which would then be shipped to my address in Canada?

They ship to Canada, and are 20$ cheaper than newegg.com. However, the shipping costs to Canada are nearly 400$, and that doesn't include any customs duties (5% GST at least, plus brokerage fees since its UPS). I found a freight forwarder who would forward them to Canada for me using USPS for 100$ each speaker, which is still rather good considering USPS doesn't charge any duties or brokerage fees.

Nevermind fellow Canadians! The jig is up! Newegg caught on that I was Canadian, and/or that the product was being shipped to a freight forwarding service. Here's the UPS transcript:

Why would NewEgg care if you were having it forwarded to CA?

NewEgg won't even let me register, buy the speaker and have it shipped to a friend's house in ND. My MC billing address is in Canada.

Sweet! I don't quite have a place for them yet so I'll need to have a friend store them for me for the time being. Ordered two of these puppies yesterday. Hard to beat $80 off and free shipping :)

fosho, you can use paypal I believe. I have finally sorted out all the difficulties....because I entered a U.S. address, paypal assumed it was an un-authorized transaction and clawed the money back from newegg after the item had shipped. Paypal did not ask me about this at all...so newegg suspended my account and issued an intercept to UPS.

I'll have to order it again, but I didn't use the promo code :D So I'll save even more now! Anyways, just use paypal and set the address to your friends address. I used a bank account through paypal because I didn't know if newegg would detect my Canadian credit card. So give that a shot, this deal is way too good to pass up.

Thanks barjebus. I'll give that a try. I actually only need a CS2 - I picked up a pair of Monitor 70s at Visions a couple months back.

Do you mind me asking how much you got the Monitor 70s for at Visions? At my local Visions store they aren't carrying them. They did, however, just had a sale on of Monitor 50's for $235 a pair. Monitor 50's are the highest model of the Monitor series that my local one carries.

They were $398 for the pair. I've seen them go on sale every once in a while online and instore.
I just happened to look at the flyer the day before the sale and they still had 4 pairs at the store by my house the next afternoon when I went to buy them.

Well i'm in the may-lay myself:D, snag a CS2,pair on M70 and 2 pairs of M40. All in the cherry finish. All for 714 beans shipped.

Wife force:eek: me to change the color of the room from a cranberry color, to something much lighter. Now I have to find away to unload the black M40 and CS2 I ordered 2 weeks ago still in the box.

I can't wait to get them hooked up to my Onkyo 805.

    Shutter..

You're going to love how those sound on the 805...I run that set up myself and the 805 has just about enough power to do the M-70s 'justice'. I should add that a Polk employee who shall remain anonymous, once said of the 70s....."Polk got those RIGHT!" Nothing more need be said. Enjoy them while they last!

They're on sale again (apparently they go on sale quite often) and I was wondering if the new Pioneer VSX-920-K receiver would be enough to drive the Polk Monitor 70/40/CS1 speaker system?

And what do y'all think about using the Polk Monitor 40's for both front and rears in a 5.1 system?

And by the way, that Pioneer receiver I linked to in my post above and asked if it has the power needed, it's a 7 channel receiver and supports Pro Logic IIz. So maybe 6 Polk Monitor 40's with four in the front (two up high) and two in the rear? Would that be decent sounding with music and movies?
