They haave a show running on Science channel that shows the assembly of this car. Much is hand built by Audi's best workers. What a car! My only question would be whether to order the V10 version or save some gas with the V8 instead.

I'm surprised it has a proper manual gearbox... most "supercars" of the day like to use the flappy paddle "shift a second before you really want to" gearboxes.
    Ludicrous gibs!

Just to clarify Noah, how many Super Cars have you driven to know the paddles are flappy and "shift a second before you really want to"

    Just curious :p;) :D.

Sweet car Al. I have loved the look of the R8 since it came out and I'm glad to see they made it a Spyder too.

A V-10 that revs to 9000 RPM is just amazing to me.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Ferrari V12's are similar and the engine from the R8 is basically the same engine in the Lambo's.............a VW derived engine since VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) owns Lambo.

Not surprising to me at all.

This car will run at 185mph all day long.... only problem is where not to run out of space to quickly.

I understand ti's not particularly UNIQUE, but my exposure to engines is the "real" world, not the supercar world. So any large displacement engine that revs crazy high is amazing to me.

Oh, I totally agree. With the exception of a couple Ferrari's and a Maserati or Aston Martin I see around town I'm not around Super Cars either. One of my good friends works for the local Mercedes/Audi/Porsche dealer in town and the baddest Super Car I've seen up close is the Porsche Carrera GT that belongs to a customer of his.

Funny thing is the owner of the car let his 18 year old daughter take the car to prom and I was at the restaurant they were eating at that night. Of course this car brings all kinds of attention and she stalled it twice right in front of the restaurant.

Besides who lets their daughter take a $500,000.00 car to prom? Stupid silly if you ask me!

You're the VP of marketing. Here's a simple solution using the Polk advertising budget. Of course, you'll have to spend a lot of time away from the office, driving around to justify the cost.

How about a V8 that revs to 20,000 + RPM and sounds like it is idling(sp) at 9000 RPM?

CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
