Going in a very different style direction from the rest of this thread, I've always liked what
Steve Howe could do with a pedal steel.cristo
NAD C 545BEE cd player, Philips AF877 turntable / Shure V15V-MR with JICO SAS stylus,
Tascam 122 mkIII cassette deck, Harman Kardon 3480 receiver, Terk FM-50 antenna in the attic,
Soundcraftsmen SE550 stereo equalizer, Polk Monitor 10a speakers
(with Sonicraft/Solen/Mills crossover rebuild) -

Absolutley correct about Tesla, amazing brain on him. Edison not even close.

Barry Sless (now playing w/ MoonAlice) is awesome on the pedal steel. He has played with Phil Lesh, New Riders, etc.
I was lucky enough to watch him many times at a local bar back in the 80's.

well, i've practicing my new lap steel for a few weeks now....i'm a lot more comfortable! not quite ready for gigs tho:) tuning is highly critically important! i bought my 1st tuner, in over 30 yrs of playing guitar...the right tuning takes the lap steel from sounding like a dying piglet to something more familiar for blues fans...it's a lotta fun!

Korg ?? I might get this one, just for the hallibut ! Cheap enough to karma if I find I am, afterall, without aptitude for the thing ! One musician with 50yrs. playing time gave it an incredible review ! 100 bucks, shipped, why not ?!?

yeah..i was looking @ that one too...i went with the recording king..it's solid mahogany...came with a slide and other stuff as well..either one is a great place to start, me thinks..the tuner i bought is the korg..cs1?? i forget..it was 12 bux...my guitar was only slight sharp..you'll really need it for the lap steel tho..BIG difference!

Marshall Tucker Band has lots of amazing pedal steel in their old albums. You can't go wrong there.
