Hello.. new forum member (however have been a long time owner of SDA 2.0's) that just picked up a pair of 1.2TL's here in northern CA. The pair with the slightly torn PR, and the broken binding post. Have been 'playing' with them for a week or so now and they sound like they are in pretty good shape overall, but I'm considering upgrading the tweeters and maybe the cross-overs depending upon how available parts might be these days. So my question is regarding who might be the best resource for starting to find some of the info I will need ... Anyway, looking froward to the project ! And thanks for any info the forum members might be able to share !

There is no SRS SDA 2.0 model. Perhaps you meant SDA SRS2?

Have you repaired the damage passive radiator?

Yes, you are correct (SDA SRS2) The speaker and tweeter pattern look just like the 1.2's (except only 4 speakers, two tweeters in the middle and of course the PR)

We have tried a fairly simple repair on the torn rubber surrounding the PR (using rubber cement) to see how that will work. We were concerned that any kind of super glue would be too brittle, so decided to try the rubber cement first. Let it dry for a couple of days and it seems to be holding, but then again I haven't really pushed them too much yet. Trying to build a new set of interconnects at the moment. The pair that the seller had with the speaker were the two blades (not for the 1.2's), so I need to build or buy a new interconnect. Luckily, the interconnect fro the SRS2 is the same, so I have been able to test the 1.2's. 3rd issue will be replacing the broken binding post ... not sure where to start there yet, but will be checking old posts I guess ;>)

Notes from Lasareath in a previous post:

    As per upgrading the crossovers:

The below list provided to me from Joe Hearingimpared, So Thanks go to Joe!!!

The following lists all the parts you need to buy for the crossover upgrade.

Sonic Craft http://www.soniccraft.com/ ; Call to order, 501-620-4444, you will be speaking to Elliot.

    Sonic Craft Generation 1 http://www.soniccraft.com/sonicaps.htm

    “Sonic Capacitors Generation 1”

Ask for Custom Matched & as close to 1% tolerance as possible:

    Qty Rating
6 12uf (he was able to get the 1% tolerance for me)
2 0.25uf (he is going to have problems matching this and will probably get within 8% tolerance which is okay.

2 13.5uf (he could get 3% tolerance here for me)
2 27uf (2% tolerance for me on this one)

    Mills Wirewound Resistors – non-inductive http://www.soniccraft.com/mills_resistors.htm

All should be rated 12 watt

    Qty Rating

    2 2.7 Ώ
    2 7.5 Ώ
2 11.5 Ώ (you may have to settle for 11 ohms here)
    2 15 Ώ
2 22.5 Ώ (if you can only get 22 ohms that is okay)
2 0.5 Ώ (to be used in place of the polyswitches)

To summarize, you will be ordering 12 capacitors & 12 resistors

It is going to cost you around $400 for all the parts plus shipping.

You may want to buy a spool of Silver Solder as well.

Thanks much !!!! Should be a lot of fun assembling the new cross-overs. Last time I did much soldering was way back when i built my set of Hafler equipment (Amp, pre-amp, and tuner), way back in the 1980's ... SO this should be an adventure !
