so about a week or so ago leroyjr1 was super nice and told me about some Polk RTA 15TL's that were for sale and knew I was looking to get into some vintage polk gear as I hadn't really heard or tried anything out before. Well he was super kind and picked them up for me and this weekend I went down and got them from him. Finally got back home tonight and got some more stuff set up in my room and thought I would share some photos. Now be forewarned my stand is a hunk of crap that I got from my father when I moved to college and is part of a larger piece of crap and I just use the top part of it. It used to hold our audio gear at our house lol. Also I do not have room treatments and will be doing some in the future.

Now for the goods.

I'm liking what I hear so far. I have to play at a bit of a lower level seeing my downstairs neighbors would get pissed if a cranked it up but so far its pretty good.

They look nice, and you certainly have enough POWER for them! So you could blow your neighbors out...if they aren't 'nice' to you? Ha..ha....

    Enjoy!

huge...well these aren't as big as the genises (spelling, its monday and I'm tired) that concealer and me saw down in Indy. For 5K you could get some speakers that were about 6ft tall I think that would require a team of guys to move them in. really wish they had them hooked up because I would have liked to hear them so badly. Normally they would of cost you 30K but at 5K was a good deal, if you could get them home that is.

I wanted to make sweet sweet love to those things, and i hadn't even heard them.

I want those Proarcs, though. Those were honestly my favorite next to the Sig8s.

    Wow...
My friend at work has some like that that he uses in his band though... his am is like the size a soda machine...the speakers are about the same. They go outrageously loud. The bass knocks air out of you and the highs make your hairs stand up.

Nice score...............in my experience RTA's image best with little to no toe in so you might want to experiment w/ back wall distance and little to no toe in. I owned a pair of RTA 11's for 20 years.

thanks for the tip. Tonight I hope to get things set up and do some more critical listening to them as last night I couldn't really blast it nor get a good feel for them (11 at night and I was dead tired).

I know they can tend to be a bit boomy, do you know what is recommended for distance from the back wall or sides?

Crystal says you HAVE to center your components on your rack before she kicks your ****.

If I did that my one power chord wouldn't reach lol. If she thinks she can kick my fat **** bring it. she's just going to get a foot full of blubber haha.

and to be more serious. I moved these out to really no toe in. I am getting a lot better imaging out of them. In terms of the boom and bloated low end I haven't been having any problems with it. I was just playing some tiger army and really the bass was pretty thined out compared to some other speakers I've heard them on. However vocals were a lot cleaner on these than my A9's on that track. Overall I am liking them, and want to play with them a bit more as the month goes by.

    hmmmmmm

so I think I might have a bad driver. The one on the top in the life side is having a little of a rubbing noise on this current track. I didn't notice it before until now. I'll have to pull the drive and find out. Are the replace drivers still around for these?

take it back as I won't be needing them. Took the driver out and found there was some glue like from a hot glue gun stuck to the back of the driver and a huge chunk was in between the cone and the magnet. Well I pulled it out and now no problem!
