Couple of questions...sorry if been addressed.

I have the OPPO BRP. Avatar is the first movie it would not play. Even on Amazon they warn about the need for firmware updates? Anyone known about this for the OPPO?

If I get a 3D version of Avatar, is it good enough to get the cheap paper glasses? Firmware issues here?

Thanks...I missed the movie at the theatre...but my wife was mezmerized by it....she is an earth mother tree hugging environmentalist...

thanks.

Updating the firmware on the Oppo will make Avatar work.

There is no 3D version of Avatar being released now, and when it eventually does, it will not be the paper glasses style of 3D. It also won't play back in 3D without a new Blu-ray player and TV. That said, I saw it in 3D in the theater... and I actually enjoyed it more in 2D at home.

you need to have a 3D TV and a 3D blu ray player... or else any blu ray 3D movie will just look normal blu ray quality.. 3D is forcing people to upgrade their entire video portion of their home theaters. if you are interested in 3D movies.. it will be here sooner than later.. but remember... you have to upgrade your entire video playback and display for you to get it. costly.
