Hi folks. Title says it all i guess. I want to buy the cs2 , but im afraid it wont match well sound wise with my 40`s, and so am willing to just get the cs1 (or cs180 or cs 10 or whatever). Rest of my setup:

yamaha htr-5830 receiver
polk monitor 40`s in front (and phantom centre)
infinity 150`s for rears
svs pb10-nsd subwoofer
panasonic 42" plasma

ive been wondering about my receiver too, but seeing as how i can only spend max 500 bucks CDN upgrading it, i wonder if its even worth it. Although getting a new receiver to try out DTS HD and Dolby HD is tempting.

The CS2 is a beast and should be fine with the 40's. Its big though, so keep that in mind when ordering. It's a great center for the price. Newegg usually has them on sale for $110-$120 US. Not familiar with your receiver, so I can't comment on that. Welcome to Club Polk!

I have the CS2 and the 40's, they blend well together (to my ears).

^ I agree. I ran the cs1 with my monitor 50's for over a year and was very pleased. However after I got the 70s and moved the 50s to the side the cs2 was a very necessary upgrade.
