I've read and been told that the HCA1000A is better then the HCA1000. Also that the HCA1000/1000A in general are not very good sounding amps. Will running the HCA1000 in bridged mono at 400 watts make it a better sounding amp?

Thanks.

Call Para tech and ask what the "A" or "AT" stand for. You may be into a surprise. There is not much to do with the SQ but the Auto on-off feature thru 12 v trigger . It was a long, long time ago that I was informed if my memory serves me well.

I have 2 1000a's.They are very nice amps. The a is just the latest one.Built exactly the same.John Curl design. The a is a remote trigger.I run both bridged for a pair of rti 12's.Until I did this I was not happy with the rti12's at all.Now you couldn't get them away from me.
