Thanks for the photos, clearly one of the reasons why B&W is one of the top speaker builders. Nicely engineered, convenient to access, and plenty of room to work on if needed.

BTW, they look to be in great shape for their age.

    Regards,

Looking at the bottom view, I was going to say I can't see the veneer layer. Then I realized it looks like 1 inch+ solid plank hardwood.:p Is it? or are my old eyes being deceived?

The date tag shows 1984. That's 2 years younger than me.

    Get what done?

The first one is nothing special. It's very neat looking, but the parts are nothing special and some of the inductors could use better placement.

The second one is pretty nice, but expect to pay for something that looks like that.

sorry don't want to hijack, but the movers put a nice gash in one of my towers and wanted to know if anyone around here works on repairing cabinets or any other home audio.

Interesting designs. I've never seen diodes or transistors used in speaker x-overs before. It even looks like they mounted them to a heat sink on the 800D.

Ok, I read the brochure for the DM2000.
    http://www.bwgroup-support.com/downloads/specsheets/bw/DM2000-3000%20Brochure.pdf

Apparently, they use some type of 'electronic time delay' which explains the transistors and diodes. I guess its more like an active circuit than the typical designs.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

They are nicely laid out. It makes me wonder if I want to redo crossover locations from the binding post cup to the bottom on a rebuild...
