Hello all!

After hearing some Polk TSi500 speakers at a Fry's while on a trip, I have been wondering why Polk speakers don't seem to get as much respect/love on other forums or really much in the way of professional reviews.
To my ears, they sounded the best in the room.
Here is where I could use some advice and help. I have an HK AVR347 I just got from the Harman Ebay store. My last speakers were B&W 602's (my point of reference). I would like a floor stander and I will be running a 3.1 set-up but not right away.
These are my choices and not all are Polk's.
Polk RTi8, RTiA5, Monitor 60 or 70,TSi400/500, PSB T45, Infinity Primus P362.
I really liked the TSi500's like I said but there are great deals on the other Polk speakers mentioned above right now. I have heard the Infinity's and the PSB's I have no way of listening to. In fact the only Polk I can listen to are the TSi series.
Any help would be appreciated Polk friends and fans:)

I don't know what all of the speakers you listed sound like...we have a shortage of quality audio places where I live...so I bought my 60's based entirely on how much I liked my old htib Polks. That being said....trust your ears...buy what you like and what you can afford. The Monitor line can be had pretty cheap from several places. I was looking at the RTiA line until I saw the Monitor prices. I think I got all of my Monitors for about $600 I think.

Hope that might help...and good luck in your quest...but watch your billfold around here....these cat's will spend your cash before you know it.

Welcome to Club Polk! If the sound of the TSi500 pleases your ears, the Monitor 70 should do the same thing, and please your wallet as well. It's an older line, but considered to be roughly equivalent. I like my HK too! Good luck. :) Let us know how you do.

I had read that this was roughly the equivalent of the TSi500.
I want a speaker that is more geared toward music than say home theater.
Thanks for the help and this is a Great Forum!

I have the Monitor 70's and 60's and the 70's are a definite step up. Other members here have stated time and time again that the 70's are good for both HT and 2 channel use, but they do benefit from extra power being sent their way. I've run mine on a little old Onkyo 506 before, so they can be driven relatively easy, but will sound better with more power.

The M70's have been around $170 each on Newegg with various coupon codes in the last few months. The TSI's do look better than the Monitor line, but for the price the Monitors are hard to beat!
