I am upgrading my RTA 15tl's and ordered my caps and resistors and will be ordering my tweets Monday. I was just wondering does that flap above the tweeter make that much of a difference? it does look kind of hideous. I was going to take it off unless it will dramatically affect the sound.

Thanks!

Polk Audio suggest that these speakers were designed to be used with the grills on if that helps any. Congrats on the sweet pair of speakers.

The "mudflap" actually blocks/deflects the sound waves coming from the mid woofer above so the do not affect the sound wave dispersion of the tweeter thus mucking up your high end and imaging.

Itsa keeper if you ask me.

I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D
