Yes pretty well all rooms have dips & peaks in the bass region. Some fixes are diff. sub locations, room treatment(panels),dual subs.

that is common.. and none of us watch movies at home standing up.. so find the correct placement for your sub and dial it in.. and sit back and enjoy.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Try raising your sub off the floor,I had the same problem and i mentioned to a high end ht installer and he gave me this advice,so i put it on a chair (with a padded seat) till i can make a proper stand for it.Doesn't hurt to try.nad t175 processor

WELCOME TO CLUB POLK!
Why don't you try the 'sub/dance'....put your sub in the position where you normally sit and then walk around the room listening for where you hear the LOUDEST and BEST quality bass--that's where your sub should BE. And also, as suggested above, you may want to decouple the sub from the floor.
On another note if one can listen to a sub standing up what about those who use inversion boots?

Hey, aren't you supposed to be sleeping?:D -
Nah, it's only 11 PM here....I've never been an early sleeper...in fact I love the NIGHT! Ah, but the sunlight is so bright...thank god there's such a smog in China! Don't even have to worry about using SUN-BLOCK over here. lol

i figured out where the issue is originating, i have a small room, the area where the ceiling meets the wall is essentially a corner, therefore i have purchased bass traps and plan to place them in the corners and ceiling wall conjunctions.
thanks for the help, and i already know these tricks, ive been an audiophile since the day i first heard a sound system. the three most important things on my list goes as food, sound, and girls lol.
