I am running an onkyo 898 for my pre.The bass management settings are really minimal.Just have large or small. The manual doesn't even tell me what the xover points are.

I have a pair of Parasound 1000's bridged to the front.
The 12's are being used for music.

try putting them closer to the wall behind them -- might help (might not)

It helped in the sense I can hear it better, but it clouded it up.

do you have them canted in about 3 - 5 degrees towards your sweet spot?

I saw a subwoofer placement diagram once that suggeested if a front firing sub is perpendicular to the wall that the bass will reflect off the opposite wall and cancel itself out.

    (see yamaha's YST-SW150 user's manual).

The same could be said for a 10/12 inch passive radiator - as we are still talking about 20 - 100 HZ freq. range

Yes they are angled towards my listening position.

I am not using a sub for two channel mode.
Got the 12's cause I thought they would produce better.
I think I am expecting to much.
