With me I have major budget constrainsts. The first rack I had was a refurbished sony stack shelf w/ a glass door. I removed the door and took off the hinged top and this worked for me for quite a while .Price paid 0.Now since I've gone on to 2-chl gear also I needed a larger rack which I built myself out of angle irons, L brackets and sanded 3/4 ply.All painted matte black and it has kind
of an erector set look but it's solid and works for me. Yes if I had boatloads of cash I would go for some decorator design system.

I have two Lovan racks that originally cost $700 but I got them for around $200 each on sale. The shelves are not far enough apart for my large Adcom amps so the amps sit on the floor. I read some ads for expensive racks that claim to reduce vibrations and improve SQ but they never provide any objective information. I think I'll put a glass of water on one rack to see how it vibrates. If it's not strong enough to stir a Martini I won't worry about it.
