I sold my ANthem Pre2L to a CP member but it had developed a hum by the time it reached him. He sent it back and received it last night and sure enough there was a nasty hum.

I have been talking to a guy that does SS and tube audio repair locally about the situation since learning the CP member found the pre to hum.

I took it to Frank today and what a treat. He is doing a lot of audio repair and has a great set up. He was interested in some of the spare EL-34s I had so I took them and was prepared to just give them to him but he would have none of that. He has a huge bag of RCA clear top side getter 12AU7As he had pulled from a lie detector machine and told me to take a hand full. I took 5 and they tested good and strong.

Then we went to his audio room where he has some fantastic gear. Altec Valencia and some gel battery Swedish or Norway equipment. He is into all music no matter the format and has a huge collection of vinyl.

Anyway I feel happy with leaving my Anthem with Frank and the time I spent with someone that is so passionate about their job and audio.

Any local North Texas people that need equipment repair I recommend contacting Frank but if you go to his house be prepared to spend some time there because he loves talking and showing you what he can do with Audio and listening to his system.

Some of the pics are from my phone and suck.

No, Nord something from Sweden or Norway, I know it used gel batteries. I will have to ask him.

The album is Willis Jackson Nothing Butt. I have to find that, it sounded excellent.

No, we reversed the deal since the Pre had the hum. At this point I am just going to get it repaired and keep it.

I'm sure Sal played some Bjork thru it. I mean, can you blame it for wanting to come home, Tracy?

Bummer! I thought for sure he would want to keep it but I didn't know what was going on behind the scenes.

Picked the Anthem up from Frank on Tuesday. He found some solder joints that needed touching up and RCA center pins that needed to be calibrated.

He also replaced a cap and resistor that were getting fatiqued.

For not much money Frank has made the Anthem sound like new. For now the Wright is setting out as art work until I receive my new 6922 Siemens tubes that will go in the ANthem.

I highly recommend Frank to anyone in the TEX/OKA/LOU area contact Frank.

I will be taking my Anthem AMP 1 to Frank for a going over and freshing up if needed.
