PSW 505 or DSW 500?

Am looking at the 505 versus DSW 500. I live in Europe and the 505 is impossible to find here so DSW 500 is the next best thing. Also, whats the major difference between the DSW 400, 500 and 600, big price diff here in Europe. Current using the following setup, thoughts appreciated

Front RTi8
Center: Csi A6
Surround: Fxi A4
A/V Receiver: cambridge audio azur 540R

The 600 is one nice sub..from Polk. The answer is YES you'll hear a difference. Every 3db is a hearable difference. If I'm not mistaken the 500 will get you down to 30 hz and the 600 to 25hz you WILL hear that and probably also 'feel' it a bit more.

Spec :The PSW 505 goes down to 23 hz while the DSW 200 is at 27hz but I do not feel the 505 actually goes down that low in a small 14 X16 room.

Does anyone have an actual measurement ?

I would go with the 600 myself, as cnh said it will dig a little deeper and you will never wonder "what if" lol.

    Good ear....

    Just check Polk's site:

PSW505 28hz at -3db (the other figure is NOT realistic)

    DSWpro 500 30hz at -3db

    DSWpro 600 25 at -3db

But more importantly check Polk's LOUDNESS (SPL specs) for all these...

The Ultra (LOW) specs are 96db for the 500 and 100db for the 600...that is a hearable difference.

The Top ratings are 114.3 for the 505, 118 for the 500, and 121db for the 600...all hearable.

Now of course those measurements are under ideal conditions and you may want to 'meter' all this yourself?

i have the DSW PRO 600, and it's a great sub, u can hear and FEEL the bass, it shakes my 3 seaters in heavy bass scenes, i believe it might be going lower than 25 HZ.

my room is 5.5m X8.5m and my setup is RTI As

I have not heard either, but here is a good review of the PSW505 from a well-respected SVS employee:

    http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_12_2/polk-psw-505-subwoofer-4-2005.html

Mullen states that "Without much effort, I achieved an in-room FR of 23 Hz - 100 Hz" (of course this was with a parametric eq) which is pretty stout for the Newegg.com price, but I don't what the prices are like in Europe.

    Good luck!
