I was looking around thinking about maybe getting some granite or just keep it simple and get some maple to place my speakers on.
Anybody else do this? Did you get noticeable results?

    I have 3-1/4" thick maple laminated blocks spiked to a concrete floor and SDA 2B's spiked to the maple blocks. I tried similar sized but heavier 2" thick blue stone spiked in the same manner but I prefered the maple.

    YMMV

    I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

    Been thinking about doing something similar to this with the maple. How much difference did you get? What spikes are you using if you don't mind me asking?

    I like spikes for my carpet but Ive heard people using dimes under there spikes for hardwood floors . I could never imagine putting big chunks of wood under my speakers

    Putting wood under speakers is like putting a baggy sweatshirt on a chick with a huge rack

    Here you go Bro, the best brass spikes out there, plus if you have hardwood floors Grant also has brass pads to place under the spikes to protect the floor. It's all in this link;

    https://myesound.com/Points_n_pads.html

    Several people here use them as well as me with great results.

    George, I've heard that the pads under the spikes take a little off the tightness of the bass. Have you done an A/B with and without the pads?

    A slab of diamond! In a pinch, ruby might work. I learned this from playing Mortal Kombat.

    Maple sounds like fun but I wonder how the direction of the grain affects resonance.

    You can't go wrong with spikes!

    . . . and great enthusiasm when it comes to listening to music. Janice was dancing up a storm at Ted's PF, but that rig at the time had that affect on most people. We were just too lazy and mesmerized to join here!!!;)
