....hard to believe you can find a TT in basically unplayed condition. Even had setup instructions on it w/manual. Sounds dead quiet and rumble free at medium high volumes. Even stylus is like new under scope. Like finding a treasure chest....back into time. As good as my Dual 1219 but with speed adj.

Cartridge is a Shure with .4x.7 elliptical. Wish I hadn't sold my MINT Shure v15 type IV.

...Lots of memories stored in those lps....and further back in those 78's.

...Looks like below but even BETTER.

I missed out on a NIB Elac/Miracord a couple of years ago when the bidding got out of hand. I wanted it, but it ended up well over $500.

I have a Benjamin Miracord (Elac) 50H that I will never part with. I bought it new bay in the early 70s.

Very nice. It is very pretty.

I too am one who really regrets selling my Shure V 15 Type V cartridge. It reached far, far beyond its price point and really sounded awesome.

    Have fun!

...OK...for people in the KNOW. Is this turntable all mechanical. Found out it is critical to level the TT,,,,more so than belts. Best part of mechanical....keep it oiled and good forever.

....another GREAT feature is....if you have alot of 78's....don't care about condition....it has a multiply spindle.

Mine has a single "changer spindle". Pretty neat. You can put a few on the spindle with no ugly stablizer arm to hold it in place. When I was doing some research a while back...it seems the spindle was worth more that a decent Miracord TT due to the fact they were lost or thrown away and are hard to find.

Hahaha!!! Steve! Now you know why when I designed my clamp, I was thinking ahead that some nut :D would want to use it on a record changer thus I designed the collet to allow the long changer spindle to go through the top of the clamp. Now if I could have figured out a way to use the clamp and still enable the changer feature I would be now spewing, "Wil E Coyote Super Genius!" :D LOL!!!!

If by "all mechanical" you mean direct drive vs. belt drive, I've read through several sites and it appears to be direct drive. All turntables whether direct drive or belt drive, it is critical to get them perfectly level.
    Makers' Specification:
Speeds: 78, 45, 33;4 and 16i rpm. Turntable: 12 in. die-cast zinc, weight 5.1 lb. Drive: hysteresis synchronous motor and friction wheel.

    Just a snipet above.

    Here's more reading for you;

....Thanks guys for all the input. I also have a Elac 50H for years....not as pretty. It is a designated 78 player.Connect thru my pc with software to bring back life to 78's. Have about 300 78's....dating back to as early as 1900's....recorded 1 side. Nostalgia. Lots of movie background type music from 30's and 40's.

    .....Great being retired but poor.

.......Also any info on the Elac Miracord 46 which was made for Realistic (Radio Shack) for a whopping $230.00 without a lid (early 70's). Lid was $13.00. It has more features than the Elac 50h. It has speed control... The 50h has square buttons compared to the round of the 46. Sound and operation seem to be the same. Can't find much about the Elac 46 (Realistic).
