I believe it was The Audio Critic that called the Silver 7's "amp of the decade."

The amp is so good that there is a n attempt being made to revive the Carver name using them as their first offering. There are orders already placed for the continuation series, even though the price is not yet announced.;)

Isn't Bob randomly releasing new amps that he's building as he completes them?

Yes. They are outstanding amps too, but only a paltry 180 watts, not 500 like the silver 7's.

Bob is just having fun building tube amps in his semi retirement. His first love has always been a tube amps. They are what they are and 180 tube watts is a lot of power.

Eh I'll take the tubes anyday.Unless you are driving something exotic 30-50 tube watts should suffice in most applications,,per David Manley,,and I think he's right.YMMV.
JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

OK Gary,, the upgraded plats were driven very well with a pair of VTL mono's of 100 watts which in my opinion, sounded better than the Silver 9's,which are rated at 5 times the output of the VTL's.Good luck with the foot;)
