Ok, I do remember seeing these about 5 years ago or so.
It is an exact copy of a vintage Marantz circuit. I can't remember which model it was from Marantz. I will post it if I come across that info again.

So at least you know you're getting something that's already been proven to sound good.

An exact copy? I doubt it. Based on, maybe. I've seen the same claims, but they always come from the Chinese seller.

Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. SQL, does yours say "Music Angel" or "Music Angle" on the front :p

Mine says Music Angel. The one in the eBay listing photo said Angle, and I remember wondering which one I'd get.

I waited to try it until I had an answer to a question:

I have received the Music Angel preamp. Thank you for the prompt shipping. I have a question about the item. The "QC Passed" sticker and some writing on the box say 110 volts, but the printing on the preamp says 220 V 50 Hz. I need United States standard 110 V 60 Hz. Do I have the right preamp?

Tubestein168 on eBay is the Hong Kong distributor, and I got my answer the same day:

The factory only produces one cover for 110V and 220V and all printed with 220V, the one you received has a 110V transformer inside despite that it has 220V sticker on the outside, thank you.

  But I suppose if all this was sorted out the price would be higher ;)

    H9, love your location!

Why can't it be a copy? Sure, the resistors, caps and transformer may not be the exact same one as the original, but I've heard quite a few people claim the same thing about its design.

It's just like how anybody can purchase an empty Dynaco board today and make one.
