I don't think it's actually a 4G since it's still using the 3G network. I think it's just the "iPhone 4". (Picky, I know).
I like the style visually, but adding ANOTHER fragile component (a plastic / glass back) is just asinine, regardless of their justification. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Alot of people are saying that knowing apple, they'll change the backing for the production model. Give it more of a seem-less look like they're other products.1993 Ford Ranger super cab:

I would have to say he needs FIRED. In this day and age with the economy the way it is, if you can't straighten up and act alittle more responsibly especially with that kind of information at your disposal then I say the hell with you try go find another job or career that would be at the same level you have now, good luck with that. Stupid, Irresponsible juvenile who has no sense of what or how to conduct himself professionally.

How is this so shocking beings 4G is on the way from the major carriers anyways?....like Apple was gonna pass on it or something. Who cares. They have more competition now then they did with the horrible original version....thank goodness.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Just read that gizmodo.com has returned the "secret" iPhone back to Apple. But why? They bought it for $5K and it was not stolen. Why should gizmodo return it? Isn't it "finders keepers"?
-
Also, there's no way this was "accidentally" leaked. It was done on purpose. Chances are it's an older dev phone and the real same is so much different that Jobs doesn't lose anything by it leaking."Dr Dunn admitted that his research could also be interpreted as evidence that women are shallower than men. He said: "Let's face it - there's evidence to support it."Best Buy is for people who don't know any better. Magnolia is for people who don't know any better and have more money to spend.

Legal basis why the iPhone 4G should be returned....not that I agree with the reasoning.
-
I'm pretty sure "finders keepers" is not a legal precedent. Not sure where you got your law degree but you may want to get a refund
It belongs to someone else. They paid five grand to someone who didn't own it in the first place.
As far as this being an intentional leak.... ehh. I agree a lot of things are fishy but it would be really silly timing for Apple, given that their stock is plenty high already with the iPad and everything. Plus, people talk about their products already, ad nauseum, why do something stupid like this? Just doesn't make any sense from a marketing perspective. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -

It's a phone, and it just so happens people lose things. If I were his boss, I'd be upset no doubt but to fire the kid, nah. We are only human and sometimes I think tight wads forget that. A little punishment sure, give him a ton of extra **** to do, not worth firing the kid.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

LOL, I was waiting for this. Gizmondo needs to get themselves some good legal counsel because they are about to find out what it's like to mess with a company bent on protecting its intellectual property rights. -

And from here it just all goes down hill. By now it's safe to say the kid got fired.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Yeah, either that or they shipped him off to the Pakistan assembly plant to "disappear." -
It's doubtful that he will be fired. From my understanding of it, he was the lead software engineer for their baseband on the iphone. With Apple's constant cat and mouse game with those who jailbreak/unlock, I don't see them firing their lead engineer. Accidents happen. It's also doubtful that he was the only one to leak something, as two itouch prototypes showed up on ebay briefly this morning, with apple barcodes and a camera.1993 Ford Ranger super cab:

Yeah but really, what the hell were they thinking paying $5000 for it? This will be a very interesting First Amendment Fair Use issue.

Oh man, it looks like Gizmondo may fight this one: http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/04/26/computers-seized-at-home-of-gizmodo-reporter-who-wrote-about-iphone-gawker-media-says/

Gizmondo was a lame handheld gaming device (that had an executive that crashed a Ferrari)
Gizmodo is the blog that did the iPhone story. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
I believe if you pay for something that does not belong to that person, you are also liable. I think the police look at it as someone took a item from bar with the intention to sell something that was not theirs to sell. I believe selling something that doesn't not belong to you is very illegal. You know, selling swamp land and/or the Brooklyn bridge.engtaz
