The $4,300 upgrade and climbing.

What was all grass up to the front door less a small sidewalk is becoming a nice outdoor lounge area.
I built this 465 sf patio in the frontyard, designed it myself, did the block work myself and all the fencing. I also built the gas fire pit for those chilly nights. The only thing I did not do was pour the concrete as it was too big a job, just over 11 cubic yards. That includes the steps and 85' of mow-strip.
All the dead grass area is getting rototilled next weekend and will become planter. Palms, shrubs, rocks and lots of lighting. Next will be lots of potted plants, benches and a patio table with chairs and an umbrella. I plan on an all automatic sprinkler system to boot.
I love building this kind of stuff. Just had to share.
So far the cost is $4,300, but I figure another $1,000 for all the landscape.
Peace Out~:D

Hey Ron! Want to come do some work at my house? Good thing my wife doesn't read the stuff on this forum: (to me) "Why don't YOU ever build anything like that, instead of spending all that money on cars and speakers?"
Seriously though, that looks great. -
Wow, that is really, really cool Ron......Atriums, brotha, Atriums....

Ron, great job on the house and the landscaping....i bet the wife/family like it so much that they wouldn't notice if you spent another 10,000.00 (family money)on your H/T on the inside. just kidding!!!!! but do i hope you have an alarm system set up for your house because your neighbours may be jealous of your H/T sytem and your triple digit dvd collection.
nice pic's, and by the way..thanks for those reviews on the progressive scan dvd players....i finally picked one up... the toshiba 5700....i found there was a little difference compared to my toshiba 1600(non progressive model) that i purchased last yr....but i will really have to wait til i pick up the wega xbr early next year to have a true comparison. (can't wait but need more cash)

Beutiful work bud, you are truely the alround handyman. You remind me of my father when it comes to this stuff. Growing up and still, it seems like there isn't a job he can't do. Next I could see you adding a second floor, yourself, for the master sweet. I also like the pink caddy in the backround. Andrea thinks your wife is one lucky women to have a husband like you.

I was impressed by the flexy rack as well, especially the strategically placed window unit to cool the components....
Only an audiophile snob would think of such a thing...heh, heh, heh.

WOW, thanks guys.
I've been wanting to do this for several years and the funds finally became available, so I jumped all over it. Looking forward to starting the sprinklers and landscaping soon.
Thanks for the great comments.

Actually the speaker cooling aparatus has since been removed. It's gotten rather cold up in these parts.
