Crackling sound

I bought a 5.1 system (RM6750) and they sound great. At times though while watching blu ray movies they begin to crackle. Even if the volume is at low levels they crackle, and only with certain movies (Terminator Salvation was the worst).
However, while watching TV, DVD's or listening to music, even at high to defening levels, they do not crackle. Ever.
I have the speakers running through a Yamaha HTR-6240 receiver with a high guage speaker wire. The connections seem fine, I've checked them multiple times.
I'm wondering if it is the speakers that may be a problem, or if it may be the receiver pushing to much power?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

What do you have the cross over set at for the speakers? I sounds at if the smaller speakers are trying to play tones that are to low for them to handle. If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

not sure. when i set up the receiver i let it do an auto type set up. on the back of the sub i have the volume at 3/4 and htz at 100 (the middle) (if that helps)

how are you connecting the blue-ray player to your receiver? If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

I have all my different sources connecting into my TV, then running a optical audio cable running into my receiver.

Ok I would send the signal through the receiver then to the tv using HDMI. Or if your receiver doesn't have HDMI us a toslink to the receiver from the Blue ray player. If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.
