Was wonder what the guys/gals running the Monitor 40's for surrouds are using for stands? Been to a couple stores online, but nothing that struck my interest.
Ive considered these, but the tops of them do not look wide enough for the 40's?

Let me know your thoughts and suggestions!
Thanks,
Harold

If wall mounting is an option for you there is avery informative thread with pictures, step step by step instructions and even a list of materials. Came out looking very nice, if I had my 40's still I would have done this myself.

It's not that I'm insensitive, I just don't care.. -
I have these with rti6 on them . these look nice and provide good support but unless them stands posted are for surround duty I would go with the 32 " or 18" for HT like I did

---Not using anything as yet, but really need to---
I guess if your room size / ceiling height is sizable, then ok, but in my dining room, wall mounts are too high, and the speakers too deep for that.
As long as dogs do not bump, or maybe I can weight down or attach the mini pillars ( the decorative mini fluted pillars ) ( same as I have my porch speakers on.
That will work for my scenario ( pillars on fireplace base, then attached on the backside, as the 40's will make top heavy and non-labrador tail friendly )
Good posts though, as it helped me decide. ( mini fluted pillars, for those wondering, are similar to what an old fashioned southern front porch holder upper or posts look like, but smaller for plants and whatnot typically )Onkyo TX-NR636

My 40's are sitting on stands that look to be almost the same as them. I thought too small but after almost a year its cool. Oh no little kids or anything to bump them.

u screw it into the monitor 40 ? -
I would recommend against **** anything into the base of a speaker, that is a disaster waiting to happen, IMHO.

Didn't say there was, I was responding to the post that asked about **** them in, and was saying that wasn't the best of ideas, IMHO.
