Integrating a sub W/ pro logic receiver

I have a Pioneer Elite VSX59 prologic receiver that I use in my basement office. The receiver has a sub 'pre-out' and the sub is a PSW505. I don't have a manual for the receiver. My question is; would I get close to the proper crossover by setting the Polk sub to 90db's? This receiver is 15 years old so I don't have a choice to call speakers 'large or small'.

Also, filtered or unfiltered on the input?

Thanks for any advise.

On the sub in the LFE in or Unfiltered lets the AVR set the crossover. Yes, Pioneer sub pre-out to the in above!

What settings does the Pioneer have for a sub crossover? Is 90hz the lowest setting. Also, the crossover depends on what speakers you have...if you have satellites or very small bookshelves you may need to crossover above 100Hz....if the speakers are larger you're safe at about 80Hz if the Pioneer has that option. I have an older Pioneer AVR somewhere and I know its lowest setting is 100Hz.
