Seems like a lot to spend for a HT set-up, unless you're looking for the Ultimate set-up. Certainly miles better than Emo or Outlaw. Of course Rotel makes a multi-channel amp as well as Adcom, Parasound, Lexicon, Sunfire, Cineova.

I would think a NAD T-975 would be more than sufficient. What processor are you running with it? Why not look into the powerhouse NAD receiver? How much do you need for HT especially if you're running a powered sub?

Just throwing some idea's out there.

That's exactly what I'm focusing on doing. I want the multi-channel amp to handle the HT end of things & also my two channel venue. From what I've read the M25 excells in both areas. This also gives me the flexibility of moving to a dedicated pre for both HT & two channel also. Right now I'm using the NAD T765 AVR for both duties & it does a superb job.

Here again NAD has a tremendous piece...the M15 HD AV which is also on my radar. As far as the subs go, that end is very well covered with dual Velo SPL-1200R subs. I like the flexibility of a combined HT & two channel system. It works great to fit my needs & room.

The other companies you mentioned have fantastic multi-channel amps & I've looked at many of them.

Well, if your looking for 2ch duty as well, then it's probably a very good choice. So initially you're going to use your NAD T765 as a pre/pro?

So how do you feel about the M25 vs NAD T-975 as Heiney pointed out?
As I mentioned in my first post, both of these models use fans to help with cooling. I suppose there's nothing wrong with that, since their receivers seem to do a very good job with the underside fans they use to blow air through the heat sinks and out the top cover vents (rather than just blowing air in random directions inside the enclosure). Both amps use a thermostat, and automatically turn off the fans during quiet passages.

The thing is, the used pricing on the M25, from authorized sources, is only 15% more than the refurbished pricing on the T975, and since the O.P. already favors the M25, it's probably not a big enough difference to change his mind, especially since Searay40dad suggested (from previous experience) that he may even get the M25 for less than the offer pricing from the dealer on AudiogoN.

The T973 you mentioned is an older model from the classic range (basically the Txx3 generation, vs. the Txx5 current generation products). It may even be a different shade of gray than his receiver, since the color has changed twice (to a darker gray each time) in the past decade or so ... which is rather annoying actually! I'm not sure if that model uses fans or not, but with so many channels packed in together, it's probably better to have them than not IMO.
    Alea jacta est!

Emotiva makes very neutrel sounding amps. www.emotiva.com.

thats funny right there boy, wow.

I forgot the model of the NAD I was looking at and was very impressed. They do live up to their measurements and give a nice clean sound. If I had the money I would try and do a side by side comparison of the ones you listed to get a better feel.
I'm tempted to go NAD possibly for HT amps at some point.

Yes, I'm currently using the T765 for both HT & 2ch venues. I know you're not a fan of using an AVR for 2ch but I must tell you that NAD takes that part of their AVR design very seriously. I previously had a CJ tube pre & a Krell SS pre both with HT bypass & the NAD T765 more than stands up to both of them sound quality wise. It's like anything else in audio, there's good & bad from all manuf. But I believe that NAD is head & shoulders above most other AVR's when it comes to playing pure "music". They have a design philosophy of "Music First" in all their designs & it really shows.

NAD makes a superb pre, the Masters Series M15 HD which is also on my radar. And their new M2 Integrated is really turning some heads in the audio world. It's new ground breaking design is something no other manuf. has accomplished yet. Very interesting!!
