which sub on should I get?

My current system is Yamaha Z7, VM 30 front, VM 20 center and surround, TSI 200 back surround, PSW110 sub (yes I was cheap on sub). However I did enjoy it for a while. The System I use to play music (pop, classical and R&B), play movies, and gaming.

Until Last night-

So somehow I walked my butt to Fry's last night and tried the difference between PSW110 and the DSW Pro 600.

OMG- no comparison at all. Feel like PSW110 didn't have any thing comming out from it at all. DSW600 totally Blew it up.

But I didn't have a chance to try the DSW 500 ($400) or the DSW Mrico 2000 (500) (the only concern on Mirco pro to me is using 1200Watt? Sounds like dragging too much power, I am little worry if I play too loud the circuit will break. Any had that experience? ["Advise 1"]) cause that are the one I am trying to get. Still trying to be cheap out ^_^

However, I saw both online are selling the price that I can afford at the moment.
So all bros and Sis, Please advise if you have tried to compare those before? ["Advise 2"]

Or if one had tried something else before with he same range price and recommend other than that two please let me know. ["Advise 3"]

Thanks all,

For HT the 600 will play louder and deeper than the 2000 even though it has 1200 watts...remember it has an 8" driver and smaller cabinet..the physics of sound require that 1000+ watts for a smaller cabinet and tiny driver. The 2000 is more musical than the 600 but the 600 will smoke it in HT mode!

Other subs a bit more expensive and as good or better are made by Epik, SVS, Velodyne (the higher models), Hsu, and the very affordable line by Elemental....almost all of these can be found online. See if you can also listen to them!

That wattage drawn from your wall socket will 'rarely' be a problem because the 2000 will rarely reach 1200 watts...or if it does it will be for micro periods of time. I wouldn't worry about the power it draws and your home circuits too much.

If you can afford it, I would recommend the DSW microPro 3000. I have the 1000 (same as 2000) and though it is a very good sub, my ear tells me something is missing in my setup. Keep in mind, you are using 30's and a 20 center and I am not so my speakers do not dish out the same level of mid-base as you can and that is where my ears hear something missing - even if I compensate by raising the Hz on the sub.

My 1000 in a home theatre setup performs well.
    Zone 1
    (5.1 Setup)
    -- VM 20 (L/R)
    -- RM 8 Center (center)
    -- VM 10 (S.L/R)
    -- DSW microPRO 1000 (LFE)
    Zone 2
    -- Atrium 45
    Denon AVR-2809
    (7.1 Setup)
    -- RM 6600 (L/R + center + S.L/R)
    -- RM 7 (SB.L/R)
    -- PSW 350 (LFE)
    Denon AVR-1909

Today I tried to listen to Velodyne, I am not sure if it is the high end one or not but I don't think not. Any way I went to Fry's again. It was a 10" sub selling for 499. I still think Pro 600 is a little better. But actually I am aiming Pro 500 or Mirco Pro 2000. Although I would like to get the Mirco 3000 but the price is totally different from 2000. I still haven't listen to one of those Mirco pro yet. So I still couldn't make the decision yet. But sounds like more ppl recommend Micro Pro rather than Pro. So I better go check that out and see if that really make the difference.

IF you have a decent size room, I would not rule out 2 subs to balance out the bass better. I have been kicking this idea around for awhile now...
FYI I currently have 1 DSW PRO 600 for HT and I am completely happy with it.

actually today I went to few different places to here different subs.
But I think I would like to stick with Polk
but still couldn't find anywhere has demo for MircoPro so still don't know how it perform.

Please anyone had tried Pro500 and MircoPro 2000 please give some advise.
    Which one you feel better?
I can tell that Pro serious is good for HT cause it has super bass power but don't really know how MircoPro perform is it also another style of super power type? Or more like a blend in Type?
    Please adivse.

First of all, we need to know the size of your room:) Like others have said, the pro 600 and the micropro 1k/2k are damn fine subs, but very different animals in some cases. Given what you are moving up from, either would be an improvement. If your room is medium to large size, I recommend the pro600. I'm afraid the micropro may be a little underwhelming when HT time rolls around. It is a FANTASTIC sub for music, but doesn't have the pure output you would want for movies. I am running dual mp1k subs and it sounds great for both, but I'm running two...One wasn't quite enough for HT, but two works great:D If you can afford two, then you might as well by a mp3k! The pro 600 will blow the micro pro 1k/2k out of the water on movies, and it does quite well with music to. The micropro 1k/2k is an awesome sub that is hard to beat in the right application and set up, but I believe the pro 600 would be your safest bet. It sounds good with the tunes and can dole out the punishment when needed. That's just my .02. Happy shopping:)

Thanks a lot for your advise.

I have a fair small size room for the HT system about 150 to 200 sq ft and I am aiming to get Pro500 or MP2K. So I am wondering what is the advantage that I will have if I get MP2K?

That's how it's done, lots of guys here do that. Have no experience with dual subs myself, but from what I have "heard" it works just fine.

I see then in that case should I get another PSW110 then go for dual subs system or just use single DSW pro 500 or Mirco Pro 2000? Or the DSW dual with the PSW????

If you want to run dual subs my only advice would be to run two identical subs, they can be kinda tricky to get set up right, but if they are two of the exact subs it can make it much easier. One DSW or MicroPro would def. outperform one PW112, but maybe not two of them. The real experts will be able to give you better advice on that application.
