Sorry for the multiple posts, Mods can delete if they want, just trying to get as much exposure on this as possible. Hey guys, may have struck gold here. Need some help on identifying them. 3 of them have model numbers, the HK's, but the two Onkyo's and the Yammie do not. The top Onkyo looks like a beast!! I am looking for an AVR for my 2 ch. rig and for $60 ea. I think these are worth a look. They are being sold as is, so hopefully they work. It is almost 5 AM here and I don't think the guy would like a phone call this early in the morning. Any ideas??

The Oinkers look like TX-SR502/3 or something in that line. Few years old, doesn't look like preouts. If you're on a REAL tight budget, you could do far worse, but if you're serious about trying this two channel thing, i don't think i would recommend going that route.
I think the Oinkers are both the same model, but i have no idea what that yammie is.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Is it just the pics. that make those Onk's look huge? The spec. page for the 502/3 says it is only 5 7/8" high? Thanks for the info man.

Jeff, why are you seeking an AVR for 2 channel? I get it if your really strapped for cash, but I just don't think an AVR, unless of course it is a higher end NAD, would do 2 ch rig justice. IMHO.

Was gonna use it as a pre and add an external amp, as long as it had pre outs.

Ah man, just get a preamp that is made for 2 ch. You'll get much better SQ. You can even get a tube pre to mate with a sand amp and you'll get some sonic bliss with both worlds. -
Man, this 2 ch. crap is so confusing, lol.

That's half a foot high... that's about what those look like.
I'm 99% sure those in the ad don't have preouts anyways.

What's so confusing Bro. It really is a hell of a lot less complicated than 5.1 or 7.1 rigs with less wiring, less speaker runs, etc. We'll get you through it. -

BS, I'm not even the boss of myself let alone on here. -
Jeff,
Somewhere, Brock listed a long string of integrated amps...these might be your cheapest solution if you're hurting for cash....decent sound, can drive 4 ohms, etc.
Let me just reprise a few of them:
NAD C355BEE
Cambridge Audio Azur 650
Onkyo A9555
An integrated will have your amp and pre-amp section in one unit and that's pretty much all you need to power those Monitor 10s. You might want to listen to them first. I've heard the NAD and the Cambridge Audio...and I prefer the NAD a bit. The Onkyo is a digital amp with some special Onkyo topology that deals with high frequency range noise. It's gotten some nice reviews as well.
You can build from there...we're mostly talking the 300+ range or cheaper if you're lucky on the gon.

Pass on these ones Jeff.
You don't want to use an AVR as the foundation of your 2 channel rig.
AVR's and music go together like peanut butter and squid. Not well(I'm assuming anyway, in the case of the PB and squid;))
Find yourself a decent 2 channel preamp, and you'll be much happier with your 2 channel experience. The nirvana inducer-

Thanks guys, I am here to learn and thankfully I have some good teachers, lol. Oh and that peanut butter and squid sounds rather tasty Curt, you may be on to something, lol. I found something better to spend my money on, but the wife will kill me if I do it, link below.
