I see that Peter Steele, the bass player and lead singer of Type O Negative dies yesterday. I used to be into them back on the 90's and hacve several of their albums. Bloody Kisses and October Rust in particular were well produced and sound fantastic. Sad news. I hope it wasnt the usual "drug overdose". I hear it was a heart attack.

I used to listen to these guys a lot back when I was a pissed off teenager. Their music just seems kind of contrived and overly depressing to me anymore though. It's like it's "depressing for the sake of depression".

Bloody Kisses and October Rust are both good albums.

I haven't listened to either of them in years though.

I also heard it was a heart attack. I haven't looked anything up regarding it though.

They're last album was a little more upbeat and really good. Its kind of weird everyone who really knew him said he was a funny guy and not really depressed at all. Just goes to show live life like you might die tomorrow, because you just might.

I dont know how I did but I totally missed this and just found it tonight. I was wondering when theyd be coming out with some new music and decided to check their website. At first I thought they were pulling a fast one since they did this back in 2005 when Steele went to jail. But I looked around and found its true. This SUCKS. I mean SUCKS!!!

I first found this band back in the early 90's when Bloody Kisses came out and became an instant fan. October Rust is in my top 3 favorite albums of all time. World Coming Down is high up there too.

This is one of the few bands whose CD's I bought as soon as they came out without even hearing them and theyre one of only 3 bands Ive seen in concert (Queensryce twice and Metallica once....before they sold out).

This SUCKS! Man Im bummed. I loved this guy.

No doubt. They are definitely a "niche" band. If it had been any other member of the band it wouldnt have been so bad but it was his writing style and most of all his voice that made the music. There's no way they could go on without him so thats the biggest kick in the balls - no more music.
