We're in the process of finishing our lower level which part of it will be a home theater area. I have agreed to in-wall and/or in-ceiling speakers and have decided on the RCi series speakers with a Polk DSW Pro 500 sub.

The configuration of the room would make it possible to do one of two combinations (that I can think of...but any advice would be welcome).

Option 1: Use 3 RC85i in-wall speakers for the front left, right, and center speakers. Use 2 RC65i in-wall speakers for the rear surrounds and use 2 RC60i in-ceiling speakers for the center surrounds.

Option 2: Use 3 RC85i in-wall speakers for the front left, right, and center speakers. Use 4 RC60i in-ceiling speakers for the rear and center surrounds.

Which option would you go with any why? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. The finished ceiling will be a drop ceiling with a height of approximately 7' 9".

THANKS!!!

    Nobody has any suggestions?

Also, the room is not very big...roughly 14x12...would it be better to do a 5.1 set-up rather than a 7.1 set-up?

If a 5.1 set-up...would it be better to put the rear surrounds on the wall behind the sitting area or on the ceiling?

    Thanks.
