How do I connect a powerd subwoofer to my recently aquired Denon AVC-3030? I didn't get a owners manual. Thanks for any advice.

Here is a picture of the rear.
You want to use the pre-outs that are located near the top in the middle. That is a very nice amp you have there. Loved mine I had back in the day. Hope that helps!

I had one of this beast. It was pre-subwoofer time. Eric had it right, use the pre-out, but you need to jerry rig that connection to still have the pre-out and main-in jumper in place. Otherwise, you'll get no sound from the speakers (connection), since the pre-amp section would be detached from the power-amp section.

The best way perhaps to use a Y RCA: male on one-end and male and female on the other end, for each channel (L&R).
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Can you clarify the "jerry rig" part? I have this receiver and desperately want to connect to my old Polk sub. I see jumpers on the back, but don't have the receiver manual to know how to wire. Not an audio expert, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello,
You'll need two "Y-cables" to make the connections. Look for ones that a male connection at the base of the "Y" and a male plug on one of the branches and a female plug on the other branch. These are usually found at most electronic parts stores, possibly a Radio Shack. Then remove the two joining connections that are at the center of the rear panel near the top. These are probably labelled "preamp out" and "power amp in". Place the base of the "Y" into the preamp out and the male plug on the "Y" cable's branch into the "power amp in" connection. Do the same with the other channel. Now you have two female connections that can be used to send a signal to the subwoofer.
    Regards, Ken

    Hello,
Welcome! Do you have the owner's manual for the Denon? If not, I'll try and get one for you.

I believe that is for the service manual.

I believe that is for the service manual.

Don't believe so. If you go into it it's instructions on use.
If @cabriolet97816166 does not have the remote it may be more difficult.
The units tone controls are defeated and it is in a DSP mode other than stereo.

I contacted a Denon product specialist and received this information:

"I found it in DMeida, but it's only available in Japanese. There's no English version manual.

FYI, AVC models are only sold in Europe and APAC. They're not sold in the US and Canada."

Maybe if we hear back from the poster we can assist further.

The Denon product specialist was mistaken.
