Buicks back then were COOL! I had a 65 Starfire that was "a real GEM". White leather interior. Modern radio. I installed an 8-track player. :)

Cool car man, which engine did it have ? I kinda miss those styles from the 60's, every brand had a few winners.

I was lucky enough to have bought an Oldsmobile Dealers personal Olds. It was very special with LOTS of options.

It had the coveted 455 and I believe a 400 turbo transmission. Maybe a 350 turbo. That was the most powerful car I've ever owned. It had the most beautiful interior also. White leather and black carpet and dash and console.
The exhaust came out of the chrome trim on the bottom of the rear quarter panels. The trim was about 8" tall and ran the whole distance of the car.

I laid down a hundred ft. burnout one time and it was that length only because I let off the pedal to save some tire tread for later normal use. I always thought I could blow a tire with that kind of power the 455 produced.

I have ALWAYS missed that car!

I also thought, if I won a lottery, I'd search out another 65 Starfire but I haven't seen one quite like mine on the web.

My Uncle had this 65ish Buick Wildcat. A White car with a red interior. Chrome everywhere. It was a jaw dropper of a beautiful car!

That's what I was wondering, very sweet. Man, I wish I still had some of those cars, built like tanks too. You would total out a car today if you hit one with one of those beasts, maybe get a dent on your bumper. Closest I ever came to the Starfire was a Delmont 88 and a Buick Riviera GS, a 425 and 455 in 'em too. Used to just bury the old camero's with the 327's 350's and 400's.

I just went to the web and I see all kinds of picks now that show the exhaust coming out of the rear quarter panels of Starfires. I loved it in the wintertime. You could see the steam coming out real well. I sure miss that car. I like it painted white or black. Black looks like a better choice though. Mine was maroon... :(

So I was messing around with this guy tonight, and I hit the “FM mute” switch on the bottom right, and the issue I’ve been having became much better. I think I may have found the issue, so tomorrow I’m gonna clean out the switches with some DeOxit, and hope for the best. If that’s all the problem was though, I’m gonna feel like a real idiot.

I thought I did a pretty good job grill'n, but I guess one of the local wild life doesn't care for it. Grill was covered too.

I'm surprised that natural casing hot dog could get that overdone without popping. :p

    Radio warm-up time...LOL.

That might've been "HIGH TECH" in those days, huh? ;)

And FM wasn't invented yet? :o

I too felt bad yanking my cassette deck out of my 95 Camry so I could play Cds in the dash. I have a CD changer in the trunk but I like at reach control and CDs in the arm rest conveniences.

I chuckle everytime I tell that story, as it took me a while to figure out the radio wasn't broke! I connected the single 6x9 speaker in the dash (free at the local junkyard), powered it up, and nothing! Walked away and after a few minutes beautiful AM sound. Did that a couple of times before realizing it was working normally. Duh!
