Incredible movie. Fine acting all around. Sound track was spot on. Gave my SVS a good workout.

The sound track had the same effect as the one in Jaws. It kept you on the edge, even when the bombs weren't dropping. Exceptionally well done.

Saw it in the theater, really liked it. Just saw the Winston Churchill movie, Darkest Hour. Also very good, superb acting by Gary Oldham.

Nope enjoyed it, definitely a work out for the HT, the Spitfire scenes were great, however they could of worked on the character development a bit, other than that we both enjoyed it.

Watched it last week with my wife and 14 year old son. I was really looking forward to it, but none of us really liked it. We must just be missing something because most people seemed to like it a lot.

I found it to be edgy and full of tension, but very little in the way of continuity. It jumped around to too many different elements and kind of pulled you out of the drama and the palpable fear the men in the ground faced.

I liked it but less than I had hoped.

    I will watch Dunkirk sometime.

I think it has the same actor who played the main actor in Hacksaw Ridge.

Now Hacksaw Ridge WAS a GREAT historical wartime movie that truley shows what a HERO IS.

    I recommend H.R. 100%

Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Got this on Blu Ray for $9 compared to the $30 for the 4K version. Not a tough choice on which version to get!

I agree with observations about the difficult to follow timeline on this film. But, that mind bending thing is something Christopher Nolan has specialized in outside of the Batman movies. There are three themes followed and stitched together to represent the battle: air, sea, and land. The movie is intense throughout and the score helps make it that way. I'll have to watch it again, but I don't remember seeing any enemy troops in this movie, just the sights and sounds of bullets, aircraft, and torpedoes. That made the whole atmosphere scary.

The editing reflects the three themes and different perspectives and does not follow a linear timeline. It all stitches together at the end though. This movie definitely needs a second viewing to understand what was going on. The air battles are the best part of this movie in my opinion. Seems to be very realistic sounding.

Memento is a good example of this (and a great movie). Never would have thought that Nolan would go on to do something as commercial as Batman after watching that one.

I thought Dunkirk was a very good movie. I heard about it and knew I would want to watch it well before any screenings occurred, so I was able to avoid the reviews/hype, and go in without having any pre-conceived notions. I try to go that route with all of the movies and music that I'm interested in. As hard as I try to not let it happen, if I hear to much about something before experiencing it myself, it has an impact on how much I enjoy it.

Those elements don't really take center stage like the conceptual ideas do in Memento or Inception. It has more of a supporting role, and it works out well. This one is all about the suspense. I could understand if it doesn't grab someone from the start that it might feel like a slog, but I was hooked the whole way through.
