    Anybody know what criteria Polk uses to determine who gets the Friends and Family notifications?

    I haven't received either of the most recent two notifications.
    Family Room, Innuos Statement streamer (Roon Core) with Morrow Audio USB cable to McIntosh MC 2700 pre with DC2 Digital Audio Module; AQ Sky XLRs to CAT 600.2 dualmono amp, Morrow Elite Speaker Cables to NOLA Baby Grand Reference Gold 3 speakers. Power source for all components: Silver Circle Audio Pure Power One with dedicated 20 amp circuit to main panel.

    Exercise Room, Innuos Streamer via Cat 6 cable connection to PS Audio PerfectWave MkII DAC w/Bridge II, AQ King Cobra RCAs to Perreaux PMF3150 amp (fully restored and upgraded by Jeffrey Jackson, Precision Audio Labs), Supra Rondo 4x2.5 Speaker Cables to SDA 1Cs (Vr3 Mods Xovers and other mods.), Dreadnaught with Supra Rondo 4x2.5 interconnect cables by Vr3 Mods. Power for each component from dedicated 20 amp circuit to main panel, except Innuos Statement powered from Silver Circle Audio Pure Power One.

    The cherry is very orange/red, the ebony is basically black, you can see the grain if they are in a super bright room.

    Every time I see a pic of the cherry, I think WOW! The mahogany just looks OK, but I'm wondering if it's just hard to photo & looks more stunning in person. I've had black speakers so long I'm a little gun shy about going for the cherry even though ATM I am leaning that way.

    Might be worth an email to Ken Swauger. I think he's helped folks in the past who for one reason or another don't get (or stopped getting) the F&F offers...

    Have you gone to their website and signed up for email notifications??
    I missed an earlier one, too. If you've never been to the main page, or are going with a freshly cleaned browser, you'll probably get a popup to sign up for the Newsletter. Signing up for that is what seems to have gotten me on the distribution list for offers - http://www.polkaudio.com

    If you don't see it automatically, clicking the Email icon pops up the Newsletter signup box.

    I grabbed a 706c! Can't wait.

    I was really tempted to grab a pair of 705's - anyone in the Houston or DFW areas want to unload theirs and upgrade to the 707's?

    I was just joking with Dromunds that Mt. Vernon Cherry sure does sound like a beautiful, warm and rich color, but I think if you were eating a creamsicle and set it down temporarily on top of a cherry 703, you'd have a hard time finding it again. Not quite that orange, though :) And no offense to MVC owners. I'd love to be able to get away with it, but I tried that color on my first order of 703's, and it just doesn't fit with my other stuff.

    I find the Midnight Mahogany to be pretty much black, as well, though in bright like I'd say it can appear a bit like eggplant?

    I have some Lsi9's in cherry, but I think Mikey's cherry Polks he has for sale look better. Maybe Polk changed up the tint of the cherry on the newer series.

    yeah, I think the LSi Cherry is darker and richer looking to me. MVC looks beautiful to me in dim spots in an earthy-toned environment. a room like this...

    I had cherry lsi 25's, and I liked that color a little better, it looked more natural to me. However The cherry 705 was drop dead gorgeous in my room, the way they blend the rounded edge and super smooth finish. Ohh yeaahhhhh :blush:

    Nooo, I hate getting rid of stuff..

    I have tried every bit of advice that was offered but Mama shot me down.

    Although, she did agree on the whole look how much I saved, she did make a passing comment about never knowing what one might find at various places.

    This got me thinking back a few as she has said that exact comment a few times before, when she had something in the trunk of her car for me. She has been traveling more for work???

    Finally made up my mind. Midnight mahogany it is. Though I like the look of the cherry, I just don't think it will look good with the rest of what's in the room. So, after having to call my credit card company because they declined the charge for suspected fraud, bam, 705's & a 706c on the way!
