This afternoon while it was pouring down rain... I decided to make a few moves.. I moved the Ushers to the listening room and the SDA's to a big closet for now. The Usher are now hooked to the Parasound P5/A21 combo via a pair of MIT Shotgun S3's. The P5 is hooked connected to the A21 by a pair of balanced wireworld IC's The A21 has a wireworld power cable. There are 2 Polk MP3K subs, the Marantz SA8004 doing disc and dac duty and a Bluesound Node II hooked to the 8004 via dig coax. I am giving it a listen right now... Going to have to eff with the xovers for the subs, but the tweets on the users are remarkable. I can get used to this... Still pouring outside...I might as well pour me a glass of wine and listen for a while... The Parasound combo is very rich sounding with the Ushers. Still have a little wire management to do.

    and ,,,, plugged it all in to the PS Audio Dectet Power Center from the sale last month. The Dectet is plugged in to the wall with a Pangea AC9... The rest of the components including the subs have AC14 SE's.

    I told him is wasn't in a hurry and he took me at my word... :) he comes to FL every winter to work on some FL stuff....

    LOL at least it's a nice vintage receiver, me I dropped my AVR off at FedEx on Thursday for a trip to Ontario Canada for repair and miss it...funny though Onkyo has repair facilities closeby (Vancouver B.C. Canada) yet they want to send it to a place that's about 4,500Km away...odd.

    Maybe they get frequent flyer miles :/

    I love my P5, I'm supposed to send mine back to Parasound for a new volume pot for the last month. However, I can't convince myself to unhook it and send it away.

    Looking good Mike, I can see where the stand mount Ushers would shine in this space, and the 2.3's would be a little "too much" for this room.

    Unrelated question, how does your Oppo 103 compare to the SA 8004 with SACD playback? I'm thinking of a new disc spinner and these two are on my list, it would be strictly for 2-channel playback, thanks.

    I love my 103, but I can't see it holding up to a 8004...

    The analog section out of the 103 is not Oppo's best effort. I think a 105 would be a better match up to the 8004.

    I plan to move my 103 to my HT where it will dump everything to my Pioneer via HDMI, once I can get a 105. :#

    I don't use the 103 for music much... but the SA8004 is my favorite source.

    Sent mine back in for it's second VC.

    2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk SDA2BTL's; LAT International speaker cables, ZU Mission IC's and power cables all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.

    Other; M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All vintage Polk have had crossover rebuilds and tweeter upgrades.

    The best way to predict the future is to invent it.
