Hello,
I have a couple of RT3000p Subs that have quit working.
I have always liked the sound of these subs and would like to fix them.
However I was wondering if I can not get them fixed is it possible to to buy another amp to drive the speakers. Not the ones that come with it but rather something like the polk audio swa500.
Thank You
Regie

Any 200W-300W x 2 amp will do. The SWA500 would be pricey. A stereo Pro amp would be the best value or a couple of plate amps. The subs will need to be crossed over as well.2.2 Office Setup | LG 29UB55 21:9 UltraWide | HP Probook 630 G8 | Dell Latitude | Cabasse Stream Amp 100 | Boston Acoustics VS 240 | AUDIORAX Desk Stands | Mirage Omni S8 sub1 | Mirage Omni S8 Sub2

Thank you for the response WLDock. Is that a Pro amp or Pre amp? I will google the plate amps. Is crossing over a piece of equipment. or circuitry I need to add?
Thanks

If you get two plate anps from parts express they will have a built in crossover. You could also get one of these to power both:

This is a cheaper pro amp that also has the crossover feature that you need and could power both:

Many thanks Rooftop59. I have a handful of parts coming for these amps (caps, opamps and regulators). gave about 20 bucks. beings I can't seem to find the schematics I'm going the shotgun route. If that doesn't work then I will probably opt for the Dayton ( Can't go wrong WLDock has one)
Thanks again to all.

Repairing them is not a bad option at all. I repaired mine a few times. After that last repair I sold them off. The caps and regulators are the usual suspects. However, I had one that had a bad transformer. I still have the plate from that amp. I was supposed to send it off to the repair shop that advertises repairs for these on eBay. They are in the IL area. Anyway, you should be able to get them going again.
Another option I considered was a couple of plate amps mounted to their own enclosure:

Can hide behind the speakers. These amps should work:

Thanks again WLDock. I have plenty to choose from now. I'm familiar with the repair shop in IL. $150 flat rate but more for cap replacement and $100 an hour for anything they fix mechanical ( I have a crack on one of my boards. They have been apart for awhile and something hit it) With shipping and repair of two amps I figured I was somewhere in the $500 range. So rolling the dice on $20 and some jb weld seemed like a no brainer. I thought I read on there site (the IL shop) they can't get the transformer. However if I can't get these working maybe you would sell the boards from your amp.
Thanks Again

My boards were toast. I was just going to give those guys the plate. Maybe they have enough parts to build a new amp? Its just sitting in my garage doing nothing.2.2 Office Setup | LG 29UB55 21:9 UltraWide | HP Probook 630 G8 | Dell Latitude | Cabasse Stream Amp 100 | Boston Acoustics VS 240 | AUDIORAX Desk Stands | Mirage Omni S8 sub1 | Mirage Omni S8 Sub2
