Atrium 6 grills have white spots all over

Have a set of Atrium 6 speakers purchased in 2010. They have been fantastic other than just recently I have noticed white spots on the speaker grills. Wife is thinking it may be some type of mold since we are here in Florida. Removed the grills and wiped them down with diluted bleach. Then tried soaking them in diluted vinegar. Spots are still there. When the grills are wet the spots disappear so I know it is not the paint that is damaged. Any ideas on what else to try?
