Polk SDA SRS 1.2tl fully modded

If your looking for Polks ultimate speaker here it is. With great reservations I’m selling my 1.2TL’s. They simply are too large for my current listening room and I don’t see myself moving or building another room anytime soon. These were bought here on the board and I REALLY want to sell them to another Polk member who appreciates them! Here is the low down on what I have done to them.
-All drivers removed and dynamat applied to all baskets and passive radiators
-All driver magnets have 3M structural epoxy so you’ll never have magnet shift
-All tweeters have been replaced with new RDO198’s
-New Gipmod crossover boards
-All new Sonicap caps, Mills resistors and Jantzen inductors
-The large 16mH inductor has been unwound to a true 16.00 mH spec and placed away from the main board (the stock reading btw was 16.65 without the metal bolt!)
-The cabinet braces inside have been reinforced with new glue
-The binding post have been replaced with gold plated Dayton binding post
-The original interconnect plug and cable have been replaced with a nice 16’ banana ended cable and plug
-In addition to the above, these come with 4 extra drivers. As we all know replacements are getting hard to find so I purchased 2 extra 6511 and 6503’s and they are epoxied as well. I also had some Lexan covers made that replace the crossover plate of you want to see the beautiful crossovers.
-I would rate the condition of these a 9 out of 10. There is one small scratch on the rear woodgrain and a small tear in the fabric at the rear. Neither are even obvious unless pointed out.
Considering the fact that these rarely come up for sale and the time & money I have in these, I’m asking $2800.00. A pair of stock 1.2’s just sold for $2400 on a popular auction site, but I don’t wanna go there!
I don’t need to sell these so no low ball offers please.
To sweeten the deal for potential buyers I will also make the following offer. To any member with 100 post or more, I will offer a 30 day layaway plan-50% up front and the rest within 30 days or when picked up. If you don’t love the speakers I will grill you a steak, well have a beer and I’ll give you your money back as we listen to some tunes.
Thanks,
Paul

You may want to list location. Looks like a SWEET DEAL for sure!"....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963)

Thanks-wish I could float you a loan for them! I too like the walnut tops better. I did the crossovers myself. I've been doing electrical circuits for about 20 years so they're done right. I will say the Mac stuff really makes them shine compared to all the other stuff I've had over the years-and some was pretty high end stuff.

Well looks like I have negotiated a deal on the board here so these are sold as of now. Really excited another Polk forum member is going to appreciate these!

Which state are these speakers located? Carlo

They are sold unless the deal falls through saturday. Thanks

Thanks to Paul I'm now the proud owner of some very nice SDA 1.2TL. Unfortunately I picked the hottest day of the year for the drive and my old pickup's AC is no more. Wish I could have spent more time there Paul but I had to get back on the road before the hottest part of the day.

Congrats on your new, already modded 1.2tl's! What will you be using to drive them?"Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer
-
They will be performing double duty for HT and 2 channel. So I'm using a parasound HCA 2205AT.

Glad you made it back safe, it was very good meeting you and listening to some new music!
