Not to fond of the cardboard sleeves holding the CD but the retro packaging is pretty cool. Will listen to this tonight with a brew in hand gotta cut grass first.

I picked up the remaster of Physical Graffiti on CD and compared it to a much older 'original' CD release.

I actually prefer the older CD release.

The new remaster is louder & brighter. Good for low volume listening while dusting in the living room or folding towels from the dryer.

The original is for scaring the neighbors and cold beer.....imho, of course.

Try the Hi Res download of II which is all I can comment about.
There is a reason all those vinyls and CDs of II showed up at
    the music exchanges. :)

Maybe...but the more I play the remaster game the more I come back to original releases for ultimate satisfaction (some CD releases the exception).

I agree both physical graffiti and houses of the holy to me seem that way.

I order the Japanese copies because the CD's come in sleaves instead of just being slid into the cardboard slipcovers unprotected (leading to scratching, in my experience).

Exactly my sentiments the cardboard sleeves suck. I put both of the ones from ITTOD in a thin jewel case to prevent them from getting scratched, once again the retro packaging is pretty cool though.
