Up for sale is my first pair of Polks! Not sure why I am selling but I have too much stuff in my house and it's time to move on. These RT16s were purchased on a closeout sale from United Audio Center in about 1996. I was in high school at the time and these speakers changed my life! They are in good condition with several signs of wear and age. One of the drivers went bad and was replaced under warranty by Polk many years ago, however the replacement driver does not have the same stamped design on the dust cap. I'm not sure if you can see that in the pics (see 4th pic), but it's the lower driver in one of the speakers. These speakers still sound amazing! Bass and imaging are their strong suits in my opinon. If I had more rooms in my house I would keep these speakers but it's time for me to let go of some items and these RT16s are on the list.

This is a local only sale. I am located in suburban St. Louis (63119) and I am willing to drive up to ~50 miles to make a sale.

Man if you lived closer, I would grab these. I have been wanting to find a pair of them just because.
Back when they where new, I waited to pick them up and missed out. They where replaced with the RT1000p's and the RT12's where replaced with the RT800's. I was heart broken but picked up the RT1000p's as I thought they where very good at the time. But deep down I knew I missed out on the speakers that I fell in love with all those years ago. They have been haunting me ever since. Even though I have owned better Polks and much better other brand speakers over the years, I still would love to grab a nice pair of them.

Good luck with your sale, for that price your selling them, I'm hoping I find a pair around here(PA) in good condition.
