Anyone familiar with him? I had never heard of him until recently a coworker turned me on to this excellent blues guitarist. So far I have only heard a small sampling of his work but I'm really liking his style.

New? I was on to him YEARS ago...in fact, IIRC, I did a review of So, It's Like That for the Speaker Specialist a number of years ago.

    Get with the program. ;)

Black Country Communion is pretty good work, as well. (as "super-groups" go...) Especially, when you consider that the singer is damn near 60 years old.

Bonamassa is great! Saw him in Breckenridge Colorado back in 2002 i think at the Blue's, Brew's and Q's event and he was just incredible. Seen him a few times here in seattle and of course got him to sign a bunch of stuff.

Been pretty to cool to have seen him, Sonny Landreth, Peter White and Al Dimeola, excellent guitarists!

JB is fantastic. Played a show in my town end of last year, he is a serious talent. I highly advise anyone into power-blues guitar to check him out. He is the real deal.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

He's very good,,fortunately I was able to see him a few times before he gained all the popularity(hungry days/times),,he played small venues,,I have talked with him a few times(he would mix with the crowd),,really seems to be a nice guy,,we would talk audio/sound etc,,he told me that he preferred the smaller venues cause of the sound,,he was concerned about "boominess",,anyway--if you get a chance--see him in a smaller venue--when the bass drums "hits" you can feel it in your chest.Gawd,,I just love that.

I just saw joe 2 weeks ago for the third time, I like his earlier albums a bit better, blues deluxe, a new day yesterday, dust bowl is pretty good much better than the last two, black country communion has been getting constant rotation in my trucks cd player. If you can find it look for bloodline it is a young Joe Bonnamassa with robbie kriegers son, they put out one album back in 98 excellent album.

Check out the cover of Zep "Tea for One" on his album You & Me. That's Jason playing the Bonzo drums. It'll give you chills.

If you get a chance to see Jason's Zep cover show, see it, it's great. Joe B and Jason are great together. I've seen them both live, but not together yet. I have a friend in London who saw one of the Black Country Communion shoes, said it was great.

The triple "Live from Nowhere in Particular" IIRC is from his 2007 tour,,prior to the RAH,,I was able to get a vinyl copy of the initial pressing that he autographed,,I tell you that to tell you this bit of trivia,,apparently when he was signing the lp's,,Joe noticed something in the liner credits that he did not like,,so he attempted to "white them out with the pen that he was autographing with,,unfortunately it turned out to kinda' "highlight" what he was trying to remove, lol. I won't tell ya'll though,,you'll have to find it.The first time I saw him was in Atlanta at an outside venue,Chastain Park Ampitheater,,BBKing's birthday tour,,with Kenny Wayne Shephard,,and this relatively unknown Bonamassa somebody,,,he comes out and just starts playing his A$$ off,, got everyones attention, and plays non stop for 30 mins or so,,what a ride that was.Been following him ever since.I've talked with him on more than one ocassion, and he is just as nice and personable as you and me,,and I stress again,,he really does seem to care about his SQ,at least back then,,both live and recorded. There,,now you know as much as I do.Enjoy your cd's and lp's,, do not discount his earlier stuff,,his best,,IMHO(he was hungry back then)
