It’s a budget tube unit, so it’s going to have some noise. All phono Tube phono pres DO NOT have noise. My current tube phono is as quiet as solid state.1 · -

A friend of mine had one of these. He ran a 5 channel lsi set up off one. We frequently saw the clipping light come on during heavy movie passages. Monster is junk.2 ·
