I remember -- even though I was young enough not to actually care on my own behalf, I watched. I am of that relatively short period in recent US history when young men did not have to register.3 · -

Most of that generation heard themselves in or near the studio/control room that way. I will say that the recordings monitored, mixed, or mastered on Altecs do sound very good indeed when played back…4 ·
