In addition, I did know I could use the AVR5700 as a pre-amp but I'm afraid to set it up that way when my time comes. I appreciate you sharing that idea for the MC2300 and some day I would like to emulate that idea so now I don't have to buy the a la cart Mcintosh set up. ( although that would be nice some day.) It would be nice to support Binghamton,NY since I lived 80 miles south of them. Thanks for your input. it's been years that I forgot I was even a member on this site until my email was taken at registration. Perhaps we can cross paths in the digital world and you might guide me in connecting up the MC2300. I'll appreciate your future advice. Regards Jeff

    Greetings to you Sir,
I have been avidly reading your postings and this thread concerning the Polk 1C and the possible power consumptions they might require. I have been searching for someone who fortunately is on a path I'll be taking shortly. I to have an AVR5700 power in a 5.1 set of Swans Divas 6.1,2.1, center channel and the SW. I had my old Polk monitor 5's that I used to run with a Denon DRA350. Well I got a wild hair and purchased a set of 7's for the rear channels. They just made such a difference that I wanted to move on and get a set of 1C's and well now I have found a set of 1C's close by my home in a 9/10 condition. It was one of my dreams in the past: being young and mobile working at $3.35/hr to pay for my Denon system and those Monitor 5's. For now I'm happy with the AVR5700 and all that is has given me over the years. Since I'm at the level now you once were do you think I can run those 1C's with the AVR5700 with no problem. ?
