....just got a pair of original Allison One's. They are in great condition (Even the irreplacable grilles) except for the foam surround rot....4 x 10" surrounds. Already ordered the surrounds. I use to have a pair of DCM Time windows. Similar design with angled front. V shaped with 6 drivers in each cabinet. Can't wait to hear them. Only drawback is they need to be placed against a wall.....probably a plus for most.

Will compare to my Maggies MG-1's , Polk Sda-crs's and Klipsch Forte II's.

Ain't life a HOOT !

I have wanted some Allison Ones, for a very long time. I have a pair of Allison AL-115 speakers, and love them. I've had them about 15 yrs. They were always the fronts of my surround system. Recently, I discovered the foam was falling apart. I need to get a kit. Where did you get your's? A friend gave me a pair of LSi9s, and an LSiC, so I'm using them now. The timing was great. When I refoam them, I'll work them back into my system.

You should enjoy the Ones. Allison made an amazing speaker. They pop up now and then on eBay.

I was afraid of that. I was hoping for another place. I don't care much for eBay. I keep a watch there, but have not ever bought anything from them, and don't really plan to. I've read too many horror stories about PayPal, and knowing my luck, I refuse to deal with them.

There are several people at AudioKarma.org that have and use Allison speakers. There is also an Allison group at Yahoo, that some of Allison's employees are part of. Roy Allison uses it too sometimes, to answer people's questions. Who better, to answer questions about Allison speakers? :D

That seller has 99.9% selling rating with 8000 transactions. with those odds i'm pretty damn sure you will have no problems whatsoever.
It's not the seller I'm worried about.
It's PayPal I don't want to deal with. I contacted the seller. He said he'd take a USPS money order. When I get the money together, I'll work something out.

Thanks for those links, dee. Sites look interesting. I'll check them out too. :)

    good news...:D

Allison fans take note: The Allison Acoustics company has been resurrected and is once again in the hands of music lovers instead of an accounting firm. Roy Allison himself was brought back to help redesign and modernize the most popular Allison classics, including the models One, Three, and Four. With this revamping of the company we will also be able to provide better than original parts for many of the classic Allison speakers that will be drop-in fits to the original cabinets. This includes the elusive 3.5" dome mid used in the One and Three. All the drivers are being produced here in the US, no cheap imports. Cabinet construction is to the highest standards, well beyond that of the original models. While we do not plan on carrying the completed speakers, if you are really interested we can most likely hook you up with a pair. Bear in mind that these aren't cheap, a set of One's will set you back about $6k, $3k for the Three's , and about $1.5k for the Four's.

Do you have a link to the resurrected company?
The original site (allisonacoustics.com) has been gone awhile now. I hope they are back in business...............:D

Hi, I'm a new member, I came here to see what is good or bad about some of my gear...I see emoxley is looking for Allison Ones. I have a decent pair (originals) I was going to part out. Sound great, decent grills, cabinets could use some work on the tops. I replaced the surrounds about three years ago for the last owner. Hard to ship. I'm in MA and I'd meet half way with them. Offer? I can send pics. I was toying with parting with my RTA-15tl's and a pair of RT-35's if anybody in the northeast is interested...Kevin. 413-475-0659. I'm in a financial crunch, like most everybody...

    Thanks anyway.
I said I wanted some. I didn't say I could afford some. I've been out of work over three years. I can't buy anything. That's why I said earlier, "when I can get the money together", which is only $20+, for the refoam kit. If I could, I certainly would........
    Thanks though. :)

I have a pair of thirty year old Allison Four speakers in my main system. They were the best audio purchase I ever made. They continue to play like new and I keep them in pristine condition. I sure hope nooshinjohn is correct because the wires on my tweeters are on a wing and a prayer. A very active and knowledgeable Allison group can be found Yahoo Groups. Check it out!
Don't forget to enjoy the music...

Allison Ones are quite nice; I found a pair at our town dump that needed only one woofer (and, of course, new foam surrounds).

See the plentiful Allison info at www.classicspeakerpages.net

I got surrounds from RSSound, who are, I think, defunct. MAT Electronics' foams are inexpensive and fine, but they have a $25 minimum order. Generic surrounds are ok (despite the weird coating on the originals).
